Nomad Dancers is a dance company inspired by traditions of Central Asia and Middle East, specializing in colorful and authentic cultural dances that will bring excitement and a touch of traditional charm to your event or celebration. Nomad Dancers proudly presents Persian, Afghan, Arabic, Azeri, Indian, Tajik, Turkish, Uighur and Uzbek traditional folkloric dances, as well as contemporary and fusion choreographies, at cultural events, celebrations and festivals.
Nomad Dancers has been established in the Washington DC region since 2008. The individual dancers bring years of professional experience in various dance styles to the group, and have performed in venues ranging from universities and embassies to Washington DC’s Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, the Freer and Sackler Galleries of the Smithsonian, the National Geographic Society, the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the majestic Registan Square in Samarkand and Istiqlol Palace in Tashkent, Uzbekistan; from across the United States to Italy, Greece, Cyprus, India and Afghanistan. Our glorious costumes are sourced from all corners of the globe. We are dedicated to bringing master teachers from around the world to help us refine our skills and craft our choreographies, better enabling us to bring diverse audiences together and to spread cultural awareness of the region.
