The Drink of the Month: Pumpkin Old-Fashioned.

6255685766_66929e10d6Just when you thought that Starbucks “Pumpkin Spice Latte” was the main Fall drink (it still is), we wanted to share with you our very personal pick, a grown up version of the famous coffee drink 😉

So basically the Pumpkin Old Fashioned is a simple mix of bourbon and Grand Marnier with pumpkin puree and maple syrup. If you are going to make it at home (and we hope that you do try it),we recommend making your own puree. It is very easy and the fresh puree makes this drink really special and tasty.

Also, it is wise to fine strain this one to ensure a clean drink.

1 1/2 ounces bourbon whiskey

1/2 ounce Grand Marnier

2 tablespoons pumpkin puree

1 ounce maple syrup

Orange peel twist or rosemary sprig for garnish

Prep Time: 3 minutes

Yield: 1 cocktail

  • Combine pumpkin puree, bourbon, syrup, Grand Marnier and bitters in a cocktail shaker filled with ice.
  • Shake well and strain through a fine mesh strainer into a chilled old-fashioned glass filled with fresh ice.
  • Garnish with a rosemary sprig or orange peel.

Enjoy 😉
