As you plan your wedding for this year, look out for all the cool, new trends that are gaining momentum!
1. Vintage is very much in: Whether it is incorporating old and new décor together or going with a full on timeless theme, couples are finding the classic look very appealing. Plus, it’s easy to shop for, antique stores are practically on every corner.
2. Smaller weddings: Couples are not only picking smaller bridal and groomsmen parties but are gutting the guest lists as well. It’s a great way to save money for things deemed more important. Also, it makes the entire experience more intimate for everyone involved.
3. More plants everywhere: Couples are incorporating different types of plants and florals all over. For example, “living” bars are on the rise with fresh greenery to transform the guests’ experiences. Plants are being used as hanging installations above tables in the reception as well as aisle décor. These can spruce up the place, no pun intended!
4. Place cards are not always on cards: Innovation is key this year when it comes to using place cards at the tables during the reception. Some are edible, such as using macarons or pastries, while others are natural, such as putting names on stone or wood.
5. Embracing the culture: Some couples that are going abroad for their wedding are incorporating the cultures of their location. Others that are choosing to stay close to home are bringing their culture to them. For example, there could be a Chinese tea ceremony included or painting henna on the bride’s hands and feet.
